Bangkok–hello modern(er) world

Airports in Myanmar have the same shitty food as just about every other airport in the world. And they have the same big posters prohibiting everything you may need on a plane: knives, food, liquids, bombs, smuggling little kids, etc...  With one little difference, no one cares. For our flight into Bagan, we walked into the airport with bags of soup and noodles from a street vendor and backpack full of bottled water. No one said a word. On our way out, we had a backpack full of food, a bottle of wine, a knife I forgot about, and again, bottles of water. The only thing we had to care about was the $10 exit fee. Yes, there is an exit fee out of the country.

The kicker, we arrived at the start of the check-in time, and we were the first ones there. Most of the locals arrived about 10 minutes before the airplane departed.

You can see the Shwedagon Pagoda in the distance. // Daniel joined us in BKK //
